Welcome! My name is Dijana Fot Zacharioudaki, and I am a certified olive oil sommelier based in the beautiful region of Rethymno, Crete.
Olive oil is more than just my profession — it’s my passion, my heritage, and my way of life. My husband’s family has been producing high-quality olive oil for generations, and together we continue this proud tradition with love and respect for the land.
Crete has one of the richest olive oil histories in the world. Our island is home to ancient olive trees, some over a thousand years old, and produces some of the finest extra virgin olive oils you can taste anywhere. I believe that no visitor should leave Crete without experiencing the flavor, aroma, and story behind our olive oil.
With over 15 years of experience in tourism, marketing, and promoting local products, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my knowledge and love for Cretan olive oil with guests from all over the world. I speak four languages — Greek, English, Croatian and Serbian — and enjoy creating authentic and unforgettable tasting experiences for people of all backgrounds.
Through my tastings, I aim to connect people with the rich culture, flavors, and traditions of Crete. Whether you’re joining me for a guided tasting, a walk among our olive groves, or a workshop on olive oil and local gastronomy, I promise you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation of this amazing product — and maybe even a new favorite bottle to take home.
